Last week Jack Cersosimo finished second in the John Bohman Memorial Invitational. The Concordia sophomore golfer shot a two-under 211 in the three-day tournament, earning him the school record.

He's only a sophomore, but Cersosimo is already the top Concordia golfer in school history.

“Jack’s probably the best player we’ve had come through here so far. It’s just fun watching him,” Head Coach Greg Sigler said.

He's building an impressive résumé with the Tornados. Cersosimo has won two tournaments and continues to break his own school record for lowest tournament score.

“I didn’t think I’d break any school records coming here. I just thought I was going to come be another addition to the team but it’s been fun to break school records and watch myself grow as a golfer,” he said.

Cersosimo learned the game at a young age from his grandpa, and for 10 straight years, he's molded his swing to where it is now.

He was the best player by far on his Lanier golf team. Now, as a local guy still competing here in Central Texas, the sophomore gets a ton of support when he tees up.

“My parents have really supported me throughout my career and my brother is probably my biggest supporter,” he said.

With three years of eligibility left, the sky is the limit for Cersosimo.

He and the rest of the Tornados hit the greens again in early October for their second tournament of the fall season.
