The red carpet got a little hairy at the opening night of Fantastic Fest because dozens of dogs were invited guests for the gala premiere of "Frankenweenie."
People and their pooches had an auditorium to themselves for the world premiere of director Tim Burton's new animated tale. It's about a dog brought back to life in Frankenstein style.
The stars were there as well including actors Martin Landau and Winona Ryder who voice characters in the movie.
Fantastic Fest holds the title of the nation's biggest genre film festival and some of the stars say they feel right at home.
"I worked here before and it has such a great creative community and the festival itself, it's my first time but it just seems so appropriate for a film like this," Ryder said.
"Frankenweenie" opens in theaters everywhere next month. Fantastic Fest continues though next Thursday.
