More than 60 people climbed Mt. Bonnell to commemorate the 11th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks in New York, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania.

The climb was put on by Team Red White and Blue to raise money for wounded veterans.

"A little bit of anger when I think about 11 years ago and what they did to us and the lives they took just under 3,000 innocent lives,” organizer Mike O’Hara said. “Then there is a lot of pride as well when I see all the people that came out to run. It's just a lot of pure American pride."

The group climbed the stairs 44 times to recreate the climb up the twin towers.

"Legs are burning, breathing hard, probably feel like you are going to throw up at times, but you got to stay strong and finish as a team. No man finishes alone," Jesse Bolls with the Ce-Bar Fire Department said.

There were some firefighters from West Travis County, but mostly regular people and vets making the climb.

"To give back to the guys who put their life on the line. I've never done anything near as honorable as that in my life so I just try to do my part to give a little back to folks like them," O’Hara said.
